Even though Easter has come and gone, I just had to show you this adorable little bunny I made for my little one! It’s the perfect Easter gift, but could be given any time of the year. Once I saw this little bunny, I didn’t have to think twice about what the Easter Bunny was putting in her basket this year. I have big plans to make her a blanket to match the bunny’s binky, so they can be nap time pals. Shhh, don’t tell her… it’s a surprise.
I found the Baby Binky Bunny pattern when I was wasting time on Pinterest, months before Easter. It was hard to wait so long to make if for her, but it was worth it. Larissa over at mmmcrafts made an AMAZING pattern! I’m telling you, this lady is a pattern genius. Her pattern was super easy to follow and she’s included a lot of clearly drawn diagrams. To be honest, I can’t sew. But this bunny was too cute to pass up. So I whipped out my sewing machine and with a little help from my good friend, Google, I did it! Yes, there was cursing. And yes, the bunny may have been thrown across the room once twice. But, I’m learning. So I just followed the pattern and did the best I could. I think it looks pretty cute… as long as you don’t look too closely. I got the linen and felt at JoAnn. And the fabric is called Freshcut 2011, by Heather Bailey. I got a charm pack on Etsy. You can add actual buttons to the diaper, but because my daughter is so young, I went with the embroidery option instead. I wasn’t about to attempt a circle, so I learned how to make a French Knot and just piled a bunch together. I also embroidered my daughter’s name on the back of the diaper, next to the tail. Just when I thought it wasn’t possible for it to get any cuter, along came the binky. ADORABLE.
This is definitely one of my favorite things I’ve ever made. I learned a lot along the way, so I’m excited to try more sewing projects. When I showed the bunny to my mom, she said, “WOW! You made this? I didn’t know you were so talented!” Thanks mom. And thank you Larissa, for such a cute pattern. *Virtual high-five* I can’t get over how cute this little bunny is. I hope you’ll try making one too if you’re considering it. It’s guaranteed to make your child very happy!
